 8|       An Act relating to schools; amending 70 O.S. 2011,              |
  |       Section 3-107, which relates to State Department of             |
 9|       Education administrative and executive duties;                  |
  |       deleting publication and distribution of the biennial           |
10|       school laws book; and providing an effective date.              |

  |                                                                       |
13|BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:                  |
  |                                                                       |
14|    SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     70 O.S. 2011, Section 3-107, is      |
  |                                                                       |
15|amended to read as follows:                                            |
  |                                                                       |
16|    Section 3-107.  The State Superintendent of Public Instruction     |
  |                                                                       |
17|is hereby authorized to administer oaths.  Upon proper request, the    |
  |                                                                       |
18|State Superintendent shall advise school district superintendents      |
  |                                                                       |
19|and technology center school district superintendents on questions     |
  |                                                                       |
20|as to the powers, duties and functions of school district officials,   |
  |                                                                       |
21|and each two (2) years shall cause to be compiled, published and       |
  |                                                                       |
22|distributed to boards of education and other public officials as       |
  |                                                                       |
23|deemed necessary the school laws in force.  The school laws shall      |
  |                                                                       |
24|include court decisions, Attorney General's opinions and other         |
  |                                                                       |

 1|informative matter relating to the school laws as deemed               |
  |                                                                       |
 2|appropriate.  The State Superintendent shall have control of and       |
  |                                                                       |
 3|direct the State Department of Education and shall perform any other   |
  |                                                                       |
 4|duties pertaining to the public school system as shall be prescribed   |
  |                                                                       |
 5|by law or the State Board of Education.  The State Superintendent      |
  |                                                                       |
 6|may affiliate with the National Council of Chief State School          |
  |                                                                       |
 7|Officers and any other national and state organizations as will be     |
  |                                                                       |
 8|of service and benefit to the public school system of Oklahoma, and    |
  |                                                                       |
 9|dues or assessments for membership therein shall be payable from any   |
  |                                                                       |
10|appropriation that is available for the payment of current operative   |
  |                                                                       |
11|expenses of the State Department of Education.                         |
  |                                                                       |
12|    SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.      |
