
|ENROLLED SENATE | |BILL NO. 357 By: Crutchfield and Ellis of | | the Senate | | | | and | | | | Hilliard and Buck of the | | House | | | | | | | | | | | | An Act relating to counties and county officers; | | amending 19 O.S. 2001, Section 351.1, which relates | | to agreements for fire protection services; updating | | language; adding certain services; providing an | | effective date; and declaring an emergency. | | | | | | | |BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | | | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 19 O.S. 2001, Section 351.1, is | |amended to read as follows: | | | | Section 351.1 The board of county commissioners of each county | |may enter into agreements with anycity, town ormunicipality for | |the furnishing of fire protection and emergency services, including, | |but not limited to, medical attention and wreck removal, by said | |city, town ormunicipality for all persons and property in areas | |outside the corporate limits of suchcity, town ormunicipality and | |to pay for suchfire protectionservices a reasonable amount on a | |per run basis, or such other equitable basis as may be agreed upon, | |and to pay for such services from funds of the county general fund | |or the county highway fund. The board of county commissioners of | |each county may also enter into reciprocal agreements with other | |counties forfire protectionsuch services. The board of county | |commissioners shall also have the authority to collect charges for | |firefightingsuch services performed by acity, town,municipality | |or another county, pursuant to the provision of this section, from | |any person to whom such services are provided. Said funds shall be | |disbursed to the entities providing services. | | | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2009. | | | | SECTION 3.
